Resolution / Answer
IMPORTANT! Please do not install or upgrade ZebraDesigner Pro v3.3.x or later without a new License Key (32bits) and Customer ID (N/A: Essential Edition).
NOTE Zebra migrated the legacy licenses to the new license server (Thales) based on the Sales Order Number.
If you are unaware of the new License Key (32bits), Customer ID and offline license file (lservrc), please get in touch with your Zebra Partner or reseller where you ordered.
NOTE This video demonstrates the offline license activation steps for one PC. However, you need to be aware that when you create the license file from an online PC, you need the device ID from the offline PC you want to activate.
Prerequisite:
Download and install (or upgrade) ZebraDesigner 3 (version 3.3.x) on your PC. (for offline PC).
Prepare the License Key (32bit, eg.12345678-abcd-efgh-ijkl-123456789012), *Customer ID AND *License file (lservrc).
Another computer with an active internet connection for accessing and managing the ECP (or EPP) instance.
If your license is the migration type from legacy (18-digits; 3467--), *Customer ID can be in the different format (eg. zdmxxxxxx; xxxxxx End Customer#).
The *license file (lservrc) should contain the offline PC's Device ID info you want to activate. So when you create the file from ECP (or EPP) from a PC with an internet connection PC, input the offline PC's device ID, not the online PC's.
A. ZebraDesigner 3 Professional Offline Activation
Go to File > About > Activate your license.
The ZebraDesigner Activation window opens.
Click Activate offline.
Follow the on-screen instructions:
Click Activate your license. Your ZebraDesigner Professional is activated and ready to use.
B. ZebraDesigner 3 Professional Offline De-Activation and license reset request.
To deactivate ZebraDesigner Professional on another PC without an internet connection:
Open ZebraDesigner and go to File > About > Deactivate your license.
The ZebraDesigner Deactivation warning window opens.
Click Deactivate to proceed. Your computer tries to access the license server. Because there is no internet connection, continue offline.
Click Deactivate offline.
The ZebraDesigner Offline Deactivation window opens. Click Deactivate License.
Click OK.
Open the file'c:\Users\<your computer
user name>\Documents\ZebraDesigner3
Deactivation Instructions.txt' and follow the instructions to complete the offline deactivation process. [Eg. ZebraDesigner3 Deactivation Instructions.txt]
Instructions to complete the offline deactivation process:
The license has been removed from the computer but it must be released on the server side before it can be activated again. Follow the steps below to submit a request for Zebra Technical Support to release the license.
Your ZebraDesigner Professional is now deactivated on the client side. After Zebra completes the process on the server side, it will be ready to use on another computer.
